Pristine Landscape Gates of the Arctic encompasses over 8.4 million acres of untouched wilderness, featuring rugged mountains, glacier-carved valleys, and wild rivers.

Brooks Range The park is dominated by the Brooks Range, one of North America's northernmost mountain ranges, providing stunning alpine scenery and habitats.

Wildlife The park is home to diverse wildlife, including caribou, grizzly bears, wolves, Dall sheep, moose, and various bird species. The Western Arctic Caribou Herd migrates through the park, offering a spectacular natural event.

Rivers and Lakes Numerous wild rivers, including the Alatna, John, Kobuk, and Noatak, flow through the park, providing opportunities for paddling and fishing. There are also many pristine lakes, adding to the park's serene beauty.

Flora  The park's vegetation ranges from boreal forest in the southern areas to arctic tundra in the north, with a rich diversity of plant life adapted to the harsh conditions.

Cultural Significance  The park is situated within the traditional homelands of the Iñupiat and Athabascan peoples, who have lived in the region for thousands of years. Their cultural heritage is deeply intertwined with the landscape.
